Merchandise trade between NSW and China over January to June 2020 marked $21.88 billion

According to statistics released by ABS on 4 August, two-way merchandise trade between New South Wales and China over January to June was $21.88 billion, up by 3.46pc over the same period of last year. Among them, merchandise exports to China fell by 4.56pc to $4.36 billion, while merchandise imports from China saw an increase of 5.66pc to $17.52 billion. representing a deficit of $13.16 billion with China


New South Wales's two-way merchandise trade across the globe for the six months period to June was $80.60 billion, down 5.30pc over the same period of last year. Among them, merchandise exports was $23.34 billion, down by 10.88pc; merchandise imports was $57.26billion, down by 2.83pc. The balance on merchandise trade for January to June 2020 was a deficit of $33.93 billion.
