Australia-China merchandise trade between January and June 2020 marked $112.41 billion

According to statistics released by ABS on 4 August, two-way merchandise trade between Australian and China over January to June was $112.41 billion, up by 4.70pc over the same period of last year, representing a surplus of $36.58 billion against China. Among them, merchandise exports to China rose by 5.45pc to 74.496 billion dollars, while merchandise imports from China saw an increase of 3.24pc to $37.98 billion.


Australia’s two-way merchandise trade across the globe for the six months period to June was $325.41billion, down 3.84pc over the same period of last year. Among them, merchandise exports was $186.32 billion, down by 1.68pc; merchandise imports was $139.09 billion, down by 6.59pc. The balance on merchandise trade for January to June 2020 was a surplus of $47.22 billion.
